Billings Park Twilight Camp

Our troop had a good turnout for Twilight Camp, and all of them had a great time.  During the three evenings the girls got to do some really fun projects, and learn some songs.  During the process they earned their Outdoor Adventurer try it.  Check out the gallery for more pictures.

Thin Mint Sprint

The "Thin Mint Sprint" was on August 15th.  10 of us made the trip down on the 14th and stayed at the AmericInn in St. Cloud.  The girls, Cassidy, Reagan, Katy, Kaitlyn, Alexa and Andrea had a really great time on the hotel pool along with leaders Kim, Naomi and Lorissa and volunteer Jeanine.  After the pool we headed to IHOP for dinner, where four of the girls got to eat for FREE!! (We love to save the troop money!)  Up early on Saturday for a great breakfast at the hotel, I'm talking eggs, biscuits, waffles, cereal, bagels, fruit, yogurt..... it is was a good selection.  The walk started at 9am.  Everyone did the 5K.  Some just walked others threw a little running in, but everyone finished in great spirits.  I don't think any of the kids even wined about the length.  5k is 3.2 miles.
We were the only troop to go from Superior, infact we traveled further than anyone else.  There is talk of there being a walk up in this area next year, but the walk in St. Cloud was so much fun I think we'll do it as a troop again next year.  Hopefully we can have more girls join us next year.

Eco-Explorer try-it

Our group of 8 brownies had fun on the 18th doing the final aquarium try-it, Eco-explorer.  They learned about the characteristics of the Baptism River and the St. Louis River.  How the fish in each differ, the river bed, the river banks, etc.  They learned about fish habitat, and the food chain.  All the girls had a great time learning with Teacher Sarah.
